Topfield: Programme info Truncated
This has been my first opportunity to fully test the Topfield 5800.rec file handling in beta 479.
I’ve done a Search on the forum but can’t find any reference to this problem.
After putting a file through VRD and transferring the file back to the Topfield it plays fine but the programme information from the EPG is severely truncated (with appropriate fields set to defaults (ORIG), file untouched with no edits).
If I can remember how to use your FTP site would you like me to send you a set of short ‘How it’s Made’ before and after files?

Be glad to look at it. Here are FTP instructions: http://www.videoredo.net/msgBoard/showthread.php?t=84
After you've uploaded, please send us an email to support@videoredo.com so we can put your request into our work queue. In the email give us the filename and folder on our FTP site. It would also be helpful to know if you are in Europe or Australia.

Was just about to post this - am experiencing the exact same problem - it seems when VRD re-saves the file as a rec and preserves the headers, it's inserting bytes/characters that the toppy can't read...
I can upload examples if helpful.

pelinor, is this a UK Toppy 5800? And, are you saving an .mpg to a .rec. We believe that saving a .rec to a .rec seems to work.
