Thread: Reverse a cut?

    Default Reverse a cut?

Okay, this question is so simple I'm hesitant to even ask.

When VRD recognizes a segment of a program as a commercial, and cuts that segment (shows red in the timeline), and that segment is actually NOT a commercial, what is the easiest way to select just that one cut area and tell VRD, don't cut that segment (turn that area of the show back to green in the timeline)?

There is a button called "Remove selected cut" over on the left. You can select a cut by either positioning the thumb anywhere inside the cut or by clicking the cut in the cut list.

Thanks, Dan. I'm not sure why use of that button (on the right) never occurred to me previously.

Needing to know to go to the cut list and click remove selected didn't seem intuitive to me either. My first attempt to undo a cut was to right click and choose "un-cut". I'm chiming in here to recommend that be considered in a change to the UI.

There is an undo function Ctrl+Z if you simply want to undo a cut. Also you don't have to manually select a cut from the list to remove it. Just move the little slider over the cut and it will be selected automatically. Then just click the remove button.

    Hi Dan,

Clicking the remove selected button is quick and easy once you know to look over there on the cut list

The right click context menu for the timeline is already loaded up with items so perhaps the UI is best as is.
