Beta build 720b has been posted:

    1. Fix for graph abort when recording directly to H.264 MP4/MKV files.

    2. COM registration has been changed. All previous versions, dating back to Version 1 of VRD, would attempt to re-register COM keys each time program was started. Starting with Vista this would fail unless run as admin/elevated user, leaving things unchanged. Starting with this beta, COM will only register/re-register when VRD is started with "/register" on the command line. This is done automatically on installation or by batch if it detects that the version of VRD doesn't match Batch's version. The bottom is there will be slightly less overhead run starting VideoReDo and less chance to mess up the COM registry keys if you should start as an elevated users.

Pro users who want the beta, please send an email to support.

Beta build 722b has been posted:

    1. New multi-threaded resizer. While substantially faster than previous builds only has a 10% improvement in output speed as the previous resizer wasn't critical to the output speed. If you have problems with the resizer you can revert to the old one by going to shift+Tools>Options and changing: 36. Number of threads to use when resizing: (change to 0 to disable new resizer).

    2. New optimized code for smart de-interlacer. Should improve output speed 15% to 40% when deinterlacing.

    3. The frame rate changer in the output profiles / save options is now enabled to change the output frame rate. Not yet enabled for DVDs (that is coming), and NTSC/ATSC captions are lost during these changes. Also, frame rate changes will trigger a recode.

    4. Fixed a number of memory leaks especially open MP4/MKV opens and saves. This should improve stability when opening and closing a lot of files.

Please see release notes for specific changes.

Beta Build 723a has been posted:

    1. Multi-threaded resizer has been fixed. If you reset the resizer to the old one in 722, it will now automatically be re-enabled by default in this build.

    2. CBR source when recoded to H.264 would always be set to CBR even if VBR was desired

    3. If creating DVDs, source audio that is not 48K will be resampled.

    4. Improvements to the frame rate changer for telecined video.

(Pro users, there will be a new Pro-only beta posted next week).

Beta Build 727h has been posted.

    1. UHD support for 3,840 x 2,160 is now enabled by default. 4,096 x 2,160 can be enabled using the Shift+Tools>Options, # 55. Important: To use intelligent recording, @ 4096x2160 set the profile resolution to "SAS" (same as source).

    2. MP4 tx3g captions, will now be displayed and saved.

    3. Option to remove the "queue to batch" confirm window.

    4. Normalization has been totally re-written. In prior versions if you were normalizing and downmixing at the same time, i.e. 5.1 > 2.0, the normalization would be done on the 5.1 stream, but the mix down would reduce the volume. Now the normalization will be done on the mixed-down stream.

    5. Tivo reader has been changed to hopefully remove the "hangs" at exit when corruption is encountered in the Tivo source file.
