Default Bird box camera file editing

I have a bird box camera which is supported by "Gamut" software (of unknown parentage) which came with the camera.
This software allows for the recording of the camera video stream and the output files have a file type of ".h264".
However VideoReDo says is cannot open files of this type. Simply renaming the file to a supported type doesn't help
    Does anyone have any suggestions?

A .h264 file is probably a video-only file, meaning it doesn't contain any audio. Video Redo cannot edit a file without audio, so you will need to add an audio track. You can combine your video file with an audio file into a new VRD-editable file using Tools -> Elementary Stream Multiplexer.

Make sure the audio is as long or longer then the video file.

I added a short commentary audio track to a movie and when VRD muxed
it the movie was chopped off at the end of the short commentary audio file.
