Thread: Video compression and burn in MCE

Default Video compression and burn in MCE

I have just started using VRD to edit recorded TV files from MCE2005.
I have noticed that when I have completed an edit and save the file it saves it as a normal mpg file not a dvr-ms file. (even though I select the DVR-ms option)
When I subsequently try a compress and burn in MCE using the standard Sonic encoder, the job fails.
    Any thoughts?
    Cheers

What version of VRD are you using? Help>About

Are you certain you are selecting type DVR-MS in the file save dialog box?

    Hi there, it's version 2.5.6.512 Jun 15 2007
It's the evaluation version with the trial software key installed.
I was about to invest in the full version as it works far better than my current editor (d-cut).
I guess the only other possibilty is to use Nero to compress and burn but I really like the MCE GUI with the Sonic encoder..

I have re-run the set up wizard and tried another edit and have successfully burned a project to disc with the MCE gui.
The log now confirms the output file is in the correct format so could have been user error.
I'll be interested in wether the log files shows anything.
    Cheers
