Thread: Batch output location

  1. #1

    Default Batch output location

I am using version 559, and am running batch files on my .vprj files to create .dvr-ms files.

I have my MediaCenter record shows to folder: H\Recorded TV

I ran AD on the files and saved the .vprj file to folder I\MCE Processing Folder

I then edited the .vprj files, resaved them, and then created a batch file to creat .dvr-ms files saving them back to folder: H\Recorded TV\MCE Processed Files

Problem is that only the VideoReDo Batch file gets saved to the destination folder: H\Recorded TV\MCE Processed Files

The final .dvr-ms files are getting created in the folder: I\MCE Processing Folder

Then I have to move them over to the proper folder, doubling the processing time.

Any idea why my destination location works when creating .vprj files, but not the final step of creating the .dvr-ms files?

Here is a screen shot of the batch screen, showing the destination folder I chose, and the location of the processed file.

    Thanks

I don't know what the deal is, but the current batch file I am running is now outputting to the correct folder. The previous 2 batch processes I ran were putting files in the original .vprj folder and not the desired destination folder.

Most likely what happened is you changed the output destination folder after you added the files, yes? If so, you have to change it prior to adding the files to the list.
    Sorry about that, Chief!

I was having issues before with the Batch process not performing the correct type of process because I changed it after I added the input files.

Then I remember seeing a post stating to add the input files after selecting the job type. Seems odd that it works that way. It should just process files based on the parameters set, not in the order you set them.

I make sure I have the type of job to be performed input first, then I make sure the destination is set, then I add the input files.

You need to set the parameters first then add the files.

That's what I was getting at with my last post. But, the Batch file was not working correctly. It was creating the .dvr-ms files in the original .vprj folder, not the destination folder, which was specified correctly as shown in the screen capture I added. But, the Batch file WAS saved in the destination folder. The input files were the last thing added to the parameters of the Batch file prior to hitting 'save and execute'.

What I am saying is it got half the output correctly, but the wrong half. I still had to move the files to the correct drive.

It has happened 2 or 3 times. The first time was a batch of about 8-10 1 hour HD shows, all about 4.8GB after removing commercials. It took another hour to transfer the files to the correct drive.

The last Batch file I ran it worked fine.

jdsnov73, Not sure what's going on. Perhaps the destination folder isn't being updated properly internally before you add the additional files.

Is there any way you can repeat this behavior with just one or two files?
