Default Qfix not fix dvd/mpg file, H264/mp4 horrible, not just VRD

Dvd/mpg file, VRD crashes on whole 900 meg file at start of encode
to H264.

I clipped off 10 megs and vrd encodes it to h264 but the results
are mostly black with lots of white blocks.

TMPGEnc does the whole file but the H264 file also goes bad
and locks up part way through... large blocking then freeze.

The mpg plays fine! Occasional blocks on top edge now and then.

Tried Qfix mpg to h264... immediate crash
Qfix did remove some errors in original file but still can not encode to h264.
This is the last group of my mpgs to get off my Hard drive into H264. :(
(45 gigs, really don't want to have to try to replace them)

thanks,
jmc

Default Dan203, file you wanted...Qfix "extra step"

I'll look into the UI issue you outlined. That is not the desired behavior.

Dan
I have one of the files you wanted...
Qfix mpg to mpg fine.
Qfix mpg to mp4 crash!

Just put in a help message about them.

thank,
jmc

Is this the same issue you mentioned in another forum? Can you isolate the section where the crash occurs and upload that to our FTP? We can see if its possible to trap the corruption so it doesn't crash.

Qfix (mpg to mpg) then process mpg to H264 works.(Tho badly)

Jmc, I've moved all your QSF issues into this one thread as they seem to be related to one file. Were you able to upload the sample?

I have the 10 meg segment that will cause a Qfix-mpg to H264 crash.
But that VRD can process to a H264 file outside of Qfixing.
Mpg looks fine but H264 badly blocked up.

The 900 meg file crashes outside of Qfix at start of second pass.
(this time)

I'm on dialup, it will take me an hour to upload the 10meg file.

Never done this. Will have to read the "upload" thread.

(edit)This could take a while. Now I have figure out to FTP something.
(edit) DONE...ftp://upload@videoredo.net/jmcQfix/test.mpg
(dos prompt, what a pain. Next time I do FTP I'll have to learn it all over.)

Thanks,
jmc

When you say you're converting it to H.264. Are you using the TS profile or the MP4 profile?

Dan

The MP4 profile which ties in with my question on "default button".
I almost certainly have changed the profile in some way before
I started using the copy/edit profile changes.

No idea in what way it is different from what were the default values.
If you need a list of setting let me know.
