Not sure if this goes here as I'm editing MPEG-2 but I'm using TVSuite 4.20.2.594.
I'm working on a Joiner project and I am getting the yellow triangle on output. The video ends at about 11:25. I had previously made a test output that went past that point and it came out fine. If I remove the two segments at that point and have the next segments be moved up I still get the same error in the same place. The log says "Multiple samples not in range at Orig PTS". Code:

After playing around with it some more I've narrowed it down to 2 offending segments. Here is what the first part of my Joiner list looks like:
![]() The ones causing the yellow triangle are: 00:11:24.19 - 00:13:07.04 00:13:14.00 - 00:14:59.16 If I remove these segments then the video will output fine. If I move both of these segments down to the bottom of the Joiner list then it still works. Its only when I put them in their intended position do I get an error. I have no idea what is going on since they are from the same source file as every other segment. And both of my source files were encoded with the same settings at a constant bitrate. |

I think the problem is that the segments in the middle either overlap each other or almost overlap each other. There are some assumptions in the V4 joiner about how to distinguish when we jump from one output segment to the next. I looks like your joiner list is pushing that envelope.
We will try to replicate your setup to figure out a solution.

Thank you for looking into it.
Although I don't think there is any actual overlap happening from the same source. As you can see I am alternating from one video to another. I put the timecodes in the description from each file. But the two files don't have the exact same times. So it ends on 13:14.04 from dvd_reencode and the next segment begins from the other file (ep4editreencoded) at 13:14.00. But these are two different videos so there shouldn't be any overlap happening. Hope that makes sense. Anyway, looking forward to your findings. Thank you. |

I'm having similar problems with H264 now. I gotta say I've never had much luck with the Joiner feature. :( This one just hangs right at the start. Don't get any errors or anything.

Try running the original files through Quick Stream fix first, then using those to make your edits/joins. There could be some sort of timecode problem in the original file causing this, and QSF is the only tool we have for correcting those.

For some reason VRD doesn't like it when the two video source files have timecodes that are too close to each other. I ran into this problem last time too. I cut off 2 minutes from the start of one of my source files and then used that as the basis for my joiner project and now it seems to be working.
I would think that most joiner projects would be combining the same show from two different sources so they would often have similar timecodes. I really don't understand why this causes problems. |

Can you either post the cut times here from the joiner projects or simply create a joiner project and email to us at support. This should work fine except in a very isolated, and hopefully rare case.
