    Variable speed playback

Actually, the playback speed range ranges from 1/8x to 32x although the 32x may not be achievable with all codecs and resolutions and is dependent on the CPU power of your system. If the system can't keep up with the increased speed, then first non-reference frames are dropped, and if that...

New experimental thumbnail feature in beta 818a

New experimental thumbnail feature in beta 818a

That's the problem, the expand doesn't make sense when you're running in single frame. Here's how I use this feature: 1. Set the thumbnail interval to 30 seconds. 2. Position near the start / end of a advertisement. 3. Shift+Click on the first visible frame after the advert and select...

    Transport-stream options

When you save the .ts file what is the reported bit rate? It's possible that the default mux rate is too low. You can change the mux rate from ATSC to "automatic" and see if that makes a difference. Another test is to save as an MP4 file and see if that runs better in VLC since MP4 files...

what happens? I should work on all frames except the center frame, so don't do the control/shift+click on that frame.

Yay!, Transitions work with simple save of Unedited x264.mp4 file!

For H.264 and HEVC you can do transitions with smart editing. MPEG2 to MPEG2 requires a full recode. jmc, Would you be interested in benchmarking an update to our H264 and HEVC transcoding codecs on the 3950x? If so, email me at support AT videoredo.com. Thanks.
