    Feature Requests and Response Status

Click the "Advanced Configuraton" button. On the "MetaData Templates" tab, look in the "MetaData-based output file and title renaming" section See the template entries for TV Series and for Movies. What you enter is a path with metadata substitution tags in {} inserted. Here is an example for...

    Feature Requests and Response Status

Don’t know if you’re aware that if you are sending output files to different meta-renamed folders, you can put different postprocess scripts in each such folder. VAP gives those scripts precedence over the script located in the default (UI-configured) output folder. Could you use this feature...

Not sure what you mean. Please give more detail on what you’re doing and how you want this to function.

    Feature Requests and Response Status

This would be a major coding effort. However, it may be possible to configure VAP6 to make it do what you want without mods. Could you give several examples of the sequence of file names for a video as it goes through your flow, i.e., Input file name File name after trimming. File name after...

PlayOn and remove commercials with markers?

@CashewNutt I wonder how well ComSkip would do on your files? Last I knew you had to become a ComSkip donor ($10) and get their “donor version” to enable processing mp4 files. VAP will automate commercial removal with Comskip, either with manual review or totally automated.

    Plex PostProcessing Script

I’m not familiar with MCEBuddy and have only used Plex a little some years in the past. VAP may do what you need, but. I would need more detail to answer this.

Anyone using HandBrake in VAP postprocessing script?

Thanks for the reply, @foosatraz. It seems you are doing fine on your own. Considering that and the very underwhelming response to this thread (1 reply after 2 months and 111 views) I don’t think any further development by me is justified. If convenient you might consider posting your...

Anyone using HandBrake in VAP postprocessing script?

VAP (and VAP6) has always been able to run HandBrake in a VAPpostprocess.bat or .cmd script. I have in the past provided such scripts that just required substituting a few variables to customize for a particular user. HandbrakeCLI.exe, the command line version of HandBrake, has changed enough...

PlayOn and remove commercials with markers?

@jriker1 i see you asked about this on the comskip forum and the answer was to just run the file thru comskip. I suspect that isn’t a solution you were looking for. But if it is, then you should be aware that VAP6 will automate that process.

PlayOn and remove commercials with markers?

I’m surprised that PlayOn provides more accurate detections than either VRD AdDetective or ComSkip. Manual review of the videos (as TiVo does to provide their commercial skip) can be very accurate of course, but I’m sure PlayOn is using only an algorithm. And I have a hard time believing they...

PlayOn and remove commercials with markers?

Are you loading a .mp4 file that has markers embedded in it? Or is there a separate side-by-side file, probably text?

    VAP6 - TVSuite 6 Auto-Processor Program

This is a general VRD question rather than just VAP specific. I don’t use PlayOn any more so can’t test for this. Suggest you eperiment with VRD and/or post the question in the appropriate VRD sub-forum. If you determine what works just using VRD then we can address whether VAP6 can implement...

    VAP6 - TVSuite 6 Auto-Processor Program

Interesting! Can you please post an example of an IP-based location as edited into the config file?

    VAP6 - TVSuite 6 Auto-Processor Program

The VAP6 configuration file is named VideoFileManager.xml and is located at: C:\Users\<windows_user_name>\AppData\Roaming\VAP6 The folder locations are the first four elements in the <ConfigurationItems> section. You can edit them (with VAP6 not running) but you have the responsibility for...

    VAP6 - TVSuite 6 Auto-Processor Program

Good! I’m puzzled because I remember the solution in previous cases being the opposite, i.e., switching from the \\server\share\xxx syntax to the y:\xxx syntax. But I hope this continues to work for you. Such behavior can be affected by the .NET framework, the VideoReDo COM functions, network...

    VAP6 - TVSuite 6 Auto-Processor Program

No, it should not require waiting for all files to be transferred, although I admit I have not tested behavior when many files are being simultaneously transferred and processed. I guess your Y:, E:, and N: drives are on different networked drives, correct? VAP has had some problems with...

Vprj file containing Unicode stars in filename fails to open

For testing, I call a .vbs file that VAP6 uses to determine the encoding of a video file using V6 COM, calling it from a .bat file. i get the error message that file <so-and-so> was not found, and the <so-and-so> has mangled char sequences in place of. the star chars. In actual VAP6 use...

Vprj file containing Unicode stars in filename fails to open

This got me wondering about the COM objects called via vbscript by VAP6. In V6, what encoding is recognized for the file names? When I try to process a file name with the stars (as per the first post here) my COM calls fail. "Normal" file names without special chars process fine. Arguments...

.ts files won't play properly and are missing audio after QSF

I suspect VRD staff would want to see the file parameters obtained by loading the files into VRD and hitting Ctrl-L. There are some suspicious differences in comparing the mediaInfo however: look at the durations in the General, Video and Audio sections. Values vary from. ~22 min to ~21...
