A Few Questions from a newbie

Some background:
I have a home project to convert all my store bought DVD's to mpeg or avi format for viewing on on my 50 inch TV through my media extender. This project is for backup / storage / ease of use as hundreds of dvd's are taking up physical space.

My process so far is to copy the contents of the DVD to the hard drive (NTFS) and copy protection from the dvd removed with anydvd. Then I use DVD shrink to rip out just the main movie. now I need a tool to convert the movie and compress with dvx. Other tools I have used cause audio sync issues.

1. I downloaded the trial software, and obtained the trial key and installed the key. The software only allows 30 minutes of a movie. I searched the forums here and if you obtain the trial key, that limitation was supposed to go away or that was what I understood. What gives?

2. Can Videoredo encode my *.ifo / *.vob files to mpeg and compress with divx (I have purchased a copy of divx pro) without the audio sync issues I have gotten with other software? I have a ALOT of DVD's and am in need of a full proof easy way to convert to mpeg without having to re-edit the mpg after converting to fix audio sync issues.

3. I am having a hard time fixing these audio sync issues, is there a step by step guide for videoredo to do this?

If anyone has a good process to offer me and advise my on my project, if you feel that what I have outlined above is not sufficient, then please feel free to let me know.

1. Are you seeing the correct length when you load the file into VideoReDo?

If not, Try processing the file through QuickStream Fix first, then load the fixed file for editing. Tools>QuickStream Fix

Here is a guide to assist you:

2. VideoReDo does not convert to Divx. I personally have been satisfied with Pocket Divx Encoder.

3. Where are you seeing the AV sync issue?

When you load the file into VideoReDo?

Find a segment of your video that contains talking.
Adjust the Sel Start and Sel End to mark this segment. You do not have to press the Cut button.
Click on the menu: Tools>Adjust Audio Synchronization
Select Repeat Sel
Press the play button. The segment you selected will automatically playback in a loop.
Adjust the slider. It will let you alter the synchronization by up to 1 second (1,000 Msec) in either direction. Move the slider to the left to cause the audio to lag behind the video. If you move the slider to the right, the audio will lead the video. Most people's perception of audio synchronization is limited to about 75-150 Msec of accuracy. That is, differences less
than 75 Msec are generally inaudible.
When you are satisfied with the adjustment, press the Close button.

1. No, when I load the movie from hard disk, it only shows 30 minutes even though I have the trial key.

2. Thank you for informing me.

3. The sync issue is after I convert to divx using other software, I was lookkng for a VERY easy way to just fix the sync issue on the mpg file. Videoredo seems like it could do this.
Example - load mpg file into program, press button to fix sync issue. Done.

I am not usre videredo is going to give me what I want to do which is -

A. load vob into program
B. save as mpeg file and compress with no audio sync problems
C. repeat process hundreads of times till project is done.

I might just have to give up this project all together because I would have to edit every single mpg converted to fix audio sync problems. :(
