I want this program so bad, I was late to the game and only found this program....installed the free trial and wanted to purchase it after using it for only 1 day but when I went to purchase the page was dead and I could not buy it. If someone does not buy the business I can't see it as hard to have Mrs. Rosen simply sell license keys to the final version. I could care less if it is never developed further as it does everything I need now and solves a lot of problems I was having.

I don’t know if the structure of the company would allow that. Dan had set it up as an LLC and I know there are special rules around LLCs when the founding member dies. If he didn’t specifically appoint his wife as his successor in the LLC then I believe that it is dissolved, which would then mean all the licenses that were registered to the LLC would need to be renegotiated.
Really the main problem with continuing to sell VideoReDo are the licenses. They're expensive, complicated and the people who hold the patents are very litigious.

In that case Dan203 I will share some information I normally would not. I was able to use the core of TVSuite 6 for 5 weeks as a trial because I found a glitch....if you don't shut the program down then it keeps working and does not realize the trial period is over. The Batch Processor does not work this way. I kept using it hoping someone would buy the business and I have become so reliant on it that I don't want to use anything else now because there is NOTHING COMPARABLE. Last night my server locked up and I was finally forced to reboot after 5 weeks and then VRD told me my trial period was expired. That is when I found this thread.
I NEVER INTEDENDED to go down this path but there is a torrent mentioned in this thread so I am not the one bringing it up. I went ahead and tried it. It is cracked. It simply says it's the trial version but it is fully functional and should remain so. I scanned the torrent multiple times and once again after I tried it and there is no malware or viruses in the torrent and it does not install any....at least that I can find. The 3 replacement files are exactly the same size as the original ones installed by the BETA I downloaded so I didn't expect to find any issues.
This may be the only path for some. If you bought the program the month before Dan unfortunately passed away you could really get screwed but this pathway at least allows you to use the program in it's last iteration.
If the business gets sold I will gladly buy the program as I intended because I wanted to buy it but could not and I would like to get the incremental improvements of beta releases and be on the upgrade path.
If the information I have provided is a problem I will gladly delete this thread if I can....and you can't.

I checked the torrent for viruses and compared the 3 files you need to replace in the program directory and since the files that are cracked are the same size as the ones the official beta from VRD's website I assumed that was no added malicious code....and I have run several scans in the last few hours since I installed it and the machine is still clean.....not much o f an issue for me as this server needs to be taken offline and have the SSD reformatted so I can upgrade the OS so if I have any issues I can just take it offline. I was just reporting my findings for anyone else that may want to try this for now.

Up to you what you do, however I would not ever consider it remotely safe to undertake or recommend such an action on a PC on the same LAN as anything I use for home banking etc. I have friends who have been "done over" and a few years ago a neighbour's sister who ended up with 97 (yes ninety seven) viruses and whatnot on her laptop which she used for home banking. I was also an interested observer in a corporate setting back some years ago when worms (eg an sql worm) were a thing and there were some really unhappy campers !

I don't do banking online or on the computer. I've run antivirus and antimalware software multiple times a day since I installed it and it always comes up clean...same antivirus won't let me access certain web content through emby so I know it is working.
I will monitor it but I haven't seen anything that leads me to worry about it yet. I plan to wipe this SSD and start fresh on this server anyway so I'm not too concerned. Risk is worth it to me as this is the ONLY software that solves my long time issues.

I use it to sanitize TV captures, apparently TS-DOCTOR may do a similar thing, I assume that isn't your need though. (I also use it to edit out ads, there's a few things that apparently do that).

TS -Doctor is OK but it is nothing like VRD....if it was I would be using it for $35 but unfortunately it just isn't anywhere near as good. I'm not too concerned about malicious software here. There are only two seeders of this torrent and it was found on a site from a guy who is all about this kind of software and is rather well known in the pirate community from what I could find. Plus I realize a lot of people use VRD but it is still a niche piece of software so the likelihood of someone taking the time to put malicious software in it is pretty low, you are far more likely to find malware in something ubiquitous like WinZip. Again, this is not a keygen or a "crack"....this includes already cracked files, the three that contain the code that phones home. I really am not that concerned, especially since it has been on my system for 5 days with multiple virus scans a day showing nothing.

Hello.
I have noticed you installed that version of VideoReDo. I'm also pretty late to the game so I was a bit disappointed to see the Buy page being deleted from the site, so I was looking for alternatives to use this software until there's an opportunity to purchase this.
My question is, the version you downloaded is still working even with the cracked files or has it become useless after the 14 day trial despite overwritting said 3 files?
The version I downloaded is a torrent and it is working fine and no issues with system security as I have run anti-virus multiple times a day since installing it and it is clean from my experience so far.
I suggest you torrent it and try it yourself. It is the latest beta so it's the newest version available.

I couldn't find the torrent, but I did find the rar through another source. If your experience was fine then I'll also give it a shot & will monitor my laptop.
