Correcting an Ad Detective error

Hi,

Long time infrequent user here. I use Ad detective on automatic scan and the review the cuts. In the past this worked marvelously well with only an occasional adjustment needed. However, I now have movie where AD was fooled. It thought the few nearby black frames were a commercial and marked it for deletion. Now, I know how to adjust the cut when needed but I don't know how to completely remove an AD cut section. I downloaded the "remove adverts" pdf file for help but it doesn't describe how to resolve this particular situation. Obviously, I could manually redo the commercial selection with a new copy of the file but prefer use the auto detect feature. Any advice would greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Unchecking "automatically cut detected scenes" in Ad Detective parameters eliminates unplanned cuts. However, still need help fixing an unplanned cut using auto AD.

There are a list of cuts at the right side of the VRD screen. If your position in the video is within the cut that you desire to remove, the cut will be highlighted (selected). Under the list of cuts, click on the "Remove Selected Cuts" to remove the cut. (You can also click on the cut or multiple cuts in the list to select them.)

Last night I tried selecting a cut scene and then pressed "removed selected cut". VRD deleted the scene rather than removing the cut. Only tried it once, perhaps I did it error... Thanks for your reply.

Retried tonight and it worked as described by wscannell. Don't know what I did wrong last night... thanks wscannell! :)

I include the unwanted cut in a wanted cut, then re-align the start and end of the wanted cut and the unwanted cut is excluded.

I'll have to try the suggested method next time.

BTY if you mistakenly mark frames for deletion, CTRL-Z will undo the step.
