Could VAP provide more string info for Post processing script to utilize.

I ran my own VAPpostprocess script to try to see what variable info VAP output. Basically all I did was:

Echo %1
Echo %2
Echo %3
Echo %4
Echo %5
Echo %6
Echo %7
Echo %8
Echo %9
Echo %10

I found all sorts of info but I was a little surprised no one ever asked you to have VAP output 1 string with only the "title", one for just the "seasonnumber" for TV shows and one for the release year for movies. I figure someone would use the Post processing script for creating folders and subfolders in a library and file media into it. I was thinking of using VAP with the post processing script, on my library file server to file TV shows into a "title" Directory and "season" subdirectory.

I didn't notice this thread for a week because it was not posted in the VAP subforum.

The arguments passed to vapPostProcess scripts are documented in VAP6-readme.pdf, item 17 in the "Things to know" section, just FYI.

The additional arguments you're asking about are all metadata items. VAP already can create output folders and output file names based on metadata. Click the "Advanced Configuration" button and select the "MetaData Templates" tab and note the top section, which has a help button.

Also note that each meta-named output folder can have its own vapPostProcess script. If such a script doesn't exist then the one existing in the base configured output folder is used (if it exists).

For additional help or discussion please post in the VAP sub-forum.
