Do I need to pay for any update ?

Hello,

I tried to start the process of buying VideoRedo Plus using regsoft.net.

I was stopped by the following option at the bottom of the ordering page :
Extended Download Service
Protect your purchase with our Extended Download Service! For an additional $8.49, we'll keep a back-up copy of your digital file should you need to re-download it for any reason. Please uncheck the box if you do not wish to purchase this service
Reading this makes asking a question :

Does this mean that, conversely, I will never be able to download any update from VideoRedo and use it with the key that I will have just bought ?

If I have to pay for being entitled to redownload, that necessarily mean that if I don't pay, I will not be entitled to download again ... And even if I pay, I suppose that I will be able to download again only the same version as previously ...

Will I have to pay $20 for any update from VideoReDo, as tiny would be this update ?

This would make me seriously thinking before buying ...

This is a service Regsoft provides. You can decline the service.

You can download VideoReDo Plus from our website if you need to reinstall.

Okay ...

So if I buy VideoReDo, can I expect to be entitled to freely upgrade at least up to the next major version ?

Would be nice to know the answer to this question, since the staff can't do their jobs and fix bugs in a timely fashion.
I have been messing with video and other related stuff for around 6 years now and I have direct experience many software and hardware apps, hence forums just like this one. I have used VRD for 5 or more of those years and I can say without reservation that the VRD team is the most consistently responsive team I have ever dealt with bar none. What you probably are clueless to is the enormity of the task it is to keep VRD working in the face of a constant flood of new devices, broadcasting schemes, commercial schemes, video formats and so on. Not to mention responding to a large number of folks who know nothing about video and really do not want to know anything about video but expect VRD to work perfectly on what ever they are currently demanding. VRD will always have one foot in the hole so to speak because the media industry is purposefully working against them.

I have seen some good staffs/teams but all have come and gone with the exception of the VRD folks and none of them were ever as good or as responsive as the VRD folks. You do not realize it but you are currently working with the best of the best!

I have been using Videoredo for years and TV suite since it came out. My license is personal and on my home machine. I want my employer to buy another license for my work computer. I know version 4 is due out in a month or 2. If I buy version 3 now, do I have to pay again for version 4, or do you have a cut off date such that any purchase of the current version after that time gets an automatic upgrade?

Unlikely, our policy in the past has been to offer lower cost upgrades to current users if they upgrade within a certain time frame. But nothing is cast in stone at this point.

Dan R,

Hope everything is going good for you? I remember you were always very courteous and helpful whenever I had a question, which I greatly appreciated.

I have not logged on in quite a while but I thought I would take a look at the forums because it has been quite some time since any updates have come out for VideoRedo Plus. I was wondering if it is still being actively developed or are you only working on upgrades for the TV Suite?

Sincerely,
Dan Stevenson
