Double Video Buffer Button???? And, Very Disa;ppointed with Upgrade from Ver. 3

I finally updated from Version 3 a couple of days ago and to be honest, I'm very disappointed. I downloaded and used the trial a couple of months ago and it was great. I had been having problems with some files not opening in ver. 3. Ver. 6 seemed to open everything and it was a lot faster. Since my upgrade I have found Ver. 6 to be annoyingly unstable. It is crashing constantly.

The main problem is the video ring overflow error. I want to check double video memory but it isn't there anymore. I went through all of the settings in case it had moved but it isn't there. Am I just not seeing it?

My laptop is a Core i7 with 16 GB of memory and although it isn't new, it has no problem running anything else. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Video ReDo. I uninstalled version 3 after installing ver. 6, so I thought that maybe something that was needed got removed. That didn't help. Quick Stream Fix only helps in a small minority of cases. I never had to use it this much with ver. 3.

I'm very bummed out.I I have wanted to update for a long time and now it's nothing but a hassle. Why would they remove the double video buffer???? It solves so many problems.

Ok, what version of VRD are you using? 816?,819? or 820(the latest beta).

What type/specs of file are you processing?

There is a great deal to learn about "where" options are with a jump from version 3 to version 6.
And that itself depends on what are you trying to do?

The setting was changed from a simple "double memory" checkbox to an actual buffer value. You can just increase the values in the "Buffer sizes" section of Stream parameters to get the same effect.

Sorry, didn't see that. I'm going to play with that and then send some logs in. I'm crashing a lot and its not just the one error.

Make sure you're using the 821 release, as it has a number of fixes for mpeg2 that could cause a crash in build 816.
