I was looking for a release prior to the major changes in the .vprj files. Do you know which one that would be?

All versions of TVS v4 use the new vprj format. You'd have to revert to TVS v3 or Plus to use the old vprj format, but those do not support H.264.

If this is because of a comskip issue then you should know that it's something we're working on. I can't say for sure when it will be fixed, but a future version should be able to support a more simplified vprj format that comskip will be capable of generating.

Hi Dan - thanks for the reply. It is because of a comskip issue and it's great to hear that you folks are working on it. Maybe we can meet in the middle with respect to this issue?

I was in touch touch with Eric yesterday (over at comskip) about the vprj issue and he asked me if I could find out for him what the minumum info is that videoredo needs to work with .wtv? (with respect to .vprj files).

I know Eric can bang out changes pretty quickly in this respect if he was armed with the right info. What do you think?

For myself, anything I can do faciliate (within reason) I'd be happy to do :)

Right now there is a whole bunch of info required for a WTV file to open via vprj. There is a whole section in the XML under the tag <OpenStreamParams> most of which is required, and some of which would be nearly impossible for a 3rd party app like Comskip to generate. (lots of values which use internal enums or defines) That information is needed so that we can maintain proper stream selections in the file between sessions.

However I'm investigating a way to create a simpler vprj file which will work basically like opening the WTV file using the default settings and then applying the cuts list. That should be simple enough for Comskip to generate. Although there will be limitations to this method. The most obvious being that you will not be able to select which audio stream is chosen by default. So if you need to select a stream other then the one chosen by the default routines then you'd have to do that manually via the UI. There is really no way around this without generating the complete <OpenStreamParams> section.

That's fantastic!

Personally, I don't think audio stream selection would be an issue at all. It's really more about the .vprj files being able to be read by the latest VideoRedo and about the cuts being accurately translated between the two.

That's all I could ask for, and it would be ideal :)

However determining the PID we use for WTV, MP4 and MKV files is not easy as it's a hash of the internal stream ID of the particular file and it's position in an internal array. So it's probably best to just leave the default unless absolutely necessary.

The byte position is not required but it helps us better seek to the proper position when making the cuts, so it speeds up output a little.

Hi Dan!

Any idea on when a beta might be released supporting the new .vprj format? I'm seeing quite a few stream errors with the version I'm running (4.20.6.691) that I can't help but think were probably addressed in later builds :D

I'v been using version 4.20.6.612 for editing TS - TRP and MPG files.

I'm happy with 612 and don't need another new version............... YET

The stream type is determined automatically, so it shouldn't be necessary to add that any longer.

I don't think the human readable times are required, but you should probably test that with the latest beta to be sure. (I'm on an iPad right now and can't test)

Well this sucks the current version suck it crashes almost everyday wehn I go and click Save As and worst the autorecovery does not have the right edits. there should be the posibility to downgrade to previous versions

If not please try it. If the beta still crashes when you save please go to Tools->Options->General and set the Diagnostic Mode to Advanced. Then try to get it to crash again. When it does please send me your log file (Help->Display VideoReDo.log) to support @ videoredo.com
