DVD menu edit doesn't offer font I need.

I installed a ttf font (Bickham Script Pro) in my up to date Windows 10 Pro. It's available in every program I've checked EXCEPT for VideoRedo V6 DVD menu edit which is the sole reason I installed the font.

How can I use that font in DVD menus?

I'm not the expert on this, Dan203 is, but he's currently on vacation. When it's loading the fonts, it makes sure that the font supports the styles you've selected (Bold, Italic, and/or none).

Looks like the font also needs to support the Ansi_charset although I'm not sure how to display that info.

I was able to use EdwardIn Script when authoring a DVD, so at least one script font does work.

FYI, I download Bickham, and it didn't show up in the title editor. Will have to wait for Dan203 to return to figure this one out.

Thanks. Didn't consider options that were pre-checked might prevent a font from being offered. But even with everything unchecked, still not shown. It does only have regular, semibold and bold. No italics but the font itself is tilted so.... Hope it doesn't turn out to be a lack of full Ansi character set support. Wil see if I can find out. If the other Dan doesn't weigh in will look for a VERY similar font. The family member asking me to make these DVDs is very particular.

Thanks again.

The editor only supports Truetype fonts. If this is a Postscript font then it will not work.

We use a technology called GDI+ for the menu editor. This limitation is from that and is not something we can really change.

Its a TrueType font. I'll look into GDI+ for clues why this font doesn't register to maybe avoid future dead-ends. Since all my other apps see the font they must not use GDI+ or the problem is elsewhere.

Thanks.

That did it!

I notice it didn't list the bold style (only regular and semi-bold) but I did not need that and assume that may be due to the fact the menu program lets you make any font bold anyway or something weird about the font itself? Windows and another program I checked showed all 3 styles. Again, not an issue, at least for me.

Thanks!!!

We offer bold on all fonts. If the font offers a bold variant it's used. If not we fake it with a stroke around the font.
