Dan would occasionally send people dropbox links like that, but I have no way to verify if that's real. Once a ticket is closed there is no easy way to search it in our system. Download at your own risk.

As for why I can't release a version with the activation disabled... I don't have the rights to do that. The source code belongs to Dan's wife, not me. She is, AFAIK, trying to sell the company. If I were to release a version that does not require activation I could diminish the value of the company and be liable for that diminished value.

Unless I get her permission, or I know for a fact that the company is completely dead, I'm not touching VideoReDo again.

Let me just add that whether Dan or you, but the reported problems were resolved quickly and usually I received a link with the fixes that I submitted. Why did I release the latest version which is newer than on the forum. If someone does not want to take the risk, please do not install this version, although I have been using it since April. We'll see what's next ... thank you.

Just read the newer message, but I already was played with, this is what i found.

You can see from my download, it marked as a .xls file

The file has been digital sign with DRS System, inc. but by a different certificate issuer than before.

I scanned it with virustotal doesn't show any know issues.
Also it done a sandbox of it, and it looks like a normal install.

So I grab a old computer which was going for be format and loaded it.
It looked all normal during the install, and rego was to 'Trail Copy'
I didn't put it online.

But It looks okay.

The file from Dropbox is downloaded as an .exe file

The xls/exe could be a firefox browser thing with dropbox site. After downloading, i just rename it without the xls.

Downloads as an exe in Firefox on Linux. Looking at the certificates for both 836a and 836d, it shows as the same certification path:

I was look back at older builds (833a and older).
They were sign by Comodo, I forgot the Comodo renamed/rebranded them self to Sectigo.
Now I see that older version was counter signed by Sectigo.

Infidelus, Do you use VRD on linux, and do you use wine, bottles, or what? to run it.

Yes, I use Linux MInt as my daily driver and have been running VideoReDo via Wine since v6 came out. There's a thread dedicated to Linux here.

Thank you for newer fixed beta! Can you please explain what exactly causing this PTS bug? Which symptoms? I would like to test it with some recordings. Could you post also original bug report with explanation you sent to VRD support?

The problem was like in the photo.
It only appeared in .ts files
I had a problem after installing the "836a" version
I was sending the .ts file and log from VRD, got VRD version "836d" which I posted here.
I asked @Dan about modifying .mkv files - i.e. removing txt files when saving to .mkv from .ts file
Then I got the answer: That feature is coming very soon.
Unfortunately, I have not received another version for testing.
It's a pity it turned out like that, it's the best software and the best support I've had because all my requests for notification have been given a quick response.

Hi,
I have faced this error too. In case this error is appeared I have used modified profile for save the video with changed Max PTS. Then the video saved without error. I dont know if it was good solution, but worked
There must be also some other things fixed, because naming of the file is 836d. Offical beta was only 836a, so there should be two other versions with other fixes before. It is strange that Dan203 cannot track these changes and explain it more.

Yes, there were probably other fixes because when I got this VRD version I got the answer:
Try this version. The PTS issue was fixed some time ago, but there was another issue that was delaying the release

The setting as in the picture with the VRD 836d version - there is no PTS error for me.
