good ol' PID error

am using most recent version of VideoReDo TVSuite Version 6 from Nov. 15 2021 and getting "No PIDS specified when trying to open a transport stream" when attempting to open an m2ts file. I can convert the file to mkv using Avidemux, and VideoReDo TVSuite Version 6 opens the new/converted mkv file no problem. Is there any way to fix this and not have to do the extra step? MBytes to scan at file open is set to 100, and PMT sample ports set to 30. Skip encoder conformity checks, ignore transport stream maps and skip PIDS with conditional access are all checkmarked. Choosing edit without audio still won't open the m2ts. Thanks

Looks like you've tried everything I know there.
But some have reported that if the "ignore transport maps" option has always been off turning it on worked for them.

Think that might have been in VRD5 tho.

thanks!

I still had the installation package for TV Suite 5, installed it and turns out it can co-exist on the computer at same time as TV Suite 6. So far it opens all the m2ts I've tried with "ignore transport maps" option turned off/unchecked.

The only concern is in 6 I like the slow encoder/higher quality option it gives you when installed or re-installing updated versions. In 5 if I keep "Use Quick Sync encoder as default" (if I remember correctly this is the faster encoder) unchecked/turned off, and put encoder quality on High, do I end up with the same slow encoder/higher quality that I get in 6?

thanks again

Glad you got something to work!

The encoder...VRD6 has "default"(64bit?) and "classic"(32bit?) for cpu.
Fuzzy on the details now but when I tested I found the "default" to be the fastest. (5950x 16 cores)
I always do cpu encodes for highest quality.

Yes, give each VRD install a different name and you can have dozens of versions installed.

I re-installed the latest 6 beta (to make sure I was getting the encoder I wanted), changed the stream parameters to what is in 5 (at some point I must've kept putting higher and higher numbers in 6 trying to make it work), now 6 will open the m2ts where it wouldn't before.

No more PID pop-up, no more audio track pop-up saying the audio is only supported in Pro.

VideoRedo, such a mystery!
