How do I Keep Subtitles when saving a video?

I have some standard definition MKVs demuxed from commercial DVDs. They have multiple audio streams and 2 subtitle files. I open the video in V5 Pro, choose the english audio stream and save the video. The resulting video doesn't have subtitles. How do I keep the subtitles?

When you open the source MKV with VideoReDo can you see the subtitles? If not they may be stored as pics rather than text which means it won't work.

If you can see the subtitles in VideoReDo what profile are you using to save the edited video? Try using TS also.

We don't support DVD subtitles sorry. So if you process these files with VideoReDo the subtitles will be lost. The only subtitle formats we currently support are DVB, teletext, and 608/708 captions.

It's not easy. We'd have to write a whole parser and display routine for DVD subs. Not impossible, but not easy, and it's never really been a priority. We might do it someday, but it's not really at the top of the list.
