Hi Dan,

Are you still supporting the standard version?

Have you implemented Hummy support yet?

best regards

Humax is up ?

Looks like it is.
This is from the Release Notes... which were quite hard to locate on the web site, I might add.

Quote:
Version 2-5-3-500, Release date: November 10, 2006
  • Fix: Humax PVR transport streams will not open properly.
PS: Pat/Dan -
Maybe it's time to un-sticky this thread on the forum, as it is now out of date.

Put another way

where can I download the latest version of VideoRedo standard? (which is my purchased version)

All I can find is VideoRedo Plus download at Version 2-5-3-500
(which I know will open Humax files), does this automatically default to the standard version with my product key?

PN

(Original question should have read "Have you implemented Hummy support in the standard version yet?", but I missed the ambiguity when I wrote it)

I understand the question now.

You might want to send PHD an email at Support@VideoReDo.com
Reference this thread number 3324.
Be sure to indicate your current version as he requested above, and your name and serial number.
I suspect he'll be able to help you out.

They don't much discuss those matters on the forum.
(...so I don't know the full answer...)

More impotantly where is the new beta list that has Version 2-5-3-501, with the written bugs Updates and changes.

Time for normality to be resumed starting the beta list afresh with Version 2-5-3-501. :)

The 500 version is on the home site as it replaces the last Updated version that had a small problem. Must be correctted the reason for the new version. No mention of the problem and what was the cause of the last release to fail.

Has the responsibilty for the release cnotes changed recently, we are less informed now, than before, please fix soon. :)

I'm with Robbi above.
We need our sticky beta list in the beta area of the forum.
That's what I usually refer to for current bug fixes, and had to go look up a similar document (which is hidden) on the main web site.

501 hasn't been released to the beta program. I posted it for the one thread concerning the very, very intermittent hang on exit. The only things fixed in 501 are two relatively memory leaks.

Rest assured the new beta program will start soon with its own set of change logs etc.

Lets get back on topic. What is "hummy"? As far as I know are still supporting Humax PVR. Is "Hummy" something new?

cutsie names

Sorry for getting off topic, but the question apparently was: VRD Standard versus VRD Plus.
Paul needs to upgrade to the current version to get Humax support.
That's why I suggested he send his info to Support@VideoReDo.Com to determine the upgrade charge, if any.

As for "hummy", that and "toppy" and "panny" are annoyingly cutsie names that really detract from clear communication.
I see that a lot on the AVSforum, and I'd like to break some typing fingers.
Oh yea, and "westy" for Westinghouse TVs, too.

I suppose the $20 upgrade isn't that bad, its just that the standard version was always adequate for my needs; I believe it supported TS because I used it extensively on my DVB-T TV cards to convert, edit & AV resync for DVD authoring.

I was just under the impression that the two products were differentiated only by automatic commercial detection.

I would have thought that my version must be due for update by now.

BTW sorry for slang - but I did use the full name in the thread title
(Humax PVR support in VideoRedo 'Standard')

Yeah! And people who say "Sony" for Sony equipment! Splitters! :D

Yea, I started out with a version around May of 2005.
VRD was good then, but has come a long way, since.
Get the upgrade and join us in the deep end of the pool.
There's support for -so- many new things.
For instance, I have enjoyed watching the hi def users work out a few bugs; now I'm about to become one! :)
You can see what fun (and friendly support) we have on the forum.
Answers are just hours away.

What's that ? We spit on Sony equipment?
Well, maybe... :)
They -are- so pretentious...

Pretentious! Eux? (Apologies to anyone who is either French or can speak French as my O-level French was a long, long time ago and I've probably got that completely wrong! :) )

As a Hummy owner since March and a Hauppauge Nova-T USB2 DVB tuner (a Hauppy? Hauppy Novy?) owner since Summer 2005, I can't recommend VRD Plus enough. Reading about some of the workflows that other PVR or DVB owners go through to author a recording...! Madness!

The software's good and still improving. The support is second to none (I suspect the only way you could get better support woud be to live next to the software's writer and have some rather juicy blackmail photos of him/her/them!), the Forum's excellent with not too many Pitbulls waiting to rip you to shreds, and, as you say, it's not really a lot of money for what you get.

I'm glad I took the plunge when I did.
