Import or open an edl file

I know VRD can run ad detect and open it's own project files, but is there any way to open an existing edl file along with the video file?

Already have DVR software (Channels DVR) that generates an edl file when it records and I would like to use that edl file as a starting point to see how accurate the markers are and adjust if necessary.

Running the latest VideoReDo TVSuite v5.3.81.762n.

Send us a copy of the EDL to support AT videoredo.com as an attachment and we will check it out.

Was this ever addressed? I have the same issue.

Thanks

Edit:

I am on TVsuite 6.

Here is a sample EDL file. It is plain ASCII text.

The first two entries are 'time in seconds' for start and stop. This would be a cut.
I don't know what the 3 at the end of each line is for. I assume it means 'cut'.

760.54 940.72 3
1433.91 1614.1100000000001 3
2239.85 2420.1 3
2781.36 3021.46 3
3513.14 3633.33 3
4048.46 4288.06 3
4846.22 5086.41 3
5525.72 5766.14 3
6310.07 6610.03 3
7022.43 7352.62 3
7903.31 8203.16 3
8593.43 8833.65 3
8893.78 9000.67 3

Turns out here is the official documentation: https://kodi.wiki/view/Edit_decision_list

The 3 was for commercial break.

Funny thing Kodi supports VideoRedo project files ... but I don't actually use Kodi.

comskip supports outputting VRD Project files by adding the following line to your comskip.ini file
output_videoredo3=1

I use KODI about 4-5 times a week. How do I get it to utilize a VRD project file?

Hi all,

I don't use KODI or comskip. I don't need them.

I want to use TVsuite 6 to edit files. I have a list of cuts in an EDL file. I would like to import this to the cut pane on the right side of the UI.

Then further edit the file and save.

Can this be done?

Thanks

There is no standard EDL format, each application has it's own format. What application created your EDL files?
