MPEG-2 MP4 output is slow

I am working with WTV files and using VAP to handle the file outputting. Saving to MPEG-2 MPG is fast but Plex on hte PS4 is having some flashing issues with bright areas of some videos so I am trying other output formats. The outputting of an MP4 was slow. Is there another output type that is on par with the speed of an MPG that I could try?

With VRD5 I think the only file types are H.264 and MPG.

You can put either in the containers...MP4,TS,MKV etc.

All output format are slow other than mpg. Is the one other format that use fast frame city?

Any profile that uses H.264 encoding will be slow because it's doing a full transcode. The only ones that will be fast will be MPEG-2 profiles. However if the issue you're having is related to the codec then it wont really help you to save to an alternate container.

If you have an Intel PC you could try using the QuickSync encoder, it can be a lot faster then the software encoder.

I tried Mpeg2, mp4 saving and found that the audio was way out of sync with the video and it took a long time to output. I think I will stick with MPEG2, MPG and then convert whatever I need to afterwards.
