Nvidia Support for Hardware Encoding

Do you have a list of video cards that are supported for hardware encoding. None of my NVIDA cards have worked. I always get the attached error regardless of which NVidia video card I use. I am currently using a GTX 1060.

Thanks!

The GTX 1060 works fine.

1. Please try the current beta: https://www.videoredo.net/msgBoard/index.php?resources/videoredo-tvsuite-v6-beta.3/ It has a few fixes for NVidia encoding specifically the GTX 1060 which doesn't do interlaced encoding. The GTX 1050 which we did our development with does do interlaced encoding so we didn't detect this issue. For interlaced source files, we now detect if NVidia card support interlaced encoding and if not, automatically turn on the deinterlacer.

2. Here's the list supported NVidia cards: https://developer.nvidia.com/video-encode-decode-gpu-support-matrix

3. The other screen that would have been useful is the NVEnc information button from VRD settings screen. It will tell us which driver version you're running and what features are supported by your card.

Here you go. Software and Intel Quicksync work fine. Just can't seem to get the NVidia Encoder working. This is VideoRedo TVSuite V6 latest beta version VRDTVS-6-60-8-815a. It would be really nice to to take the workload off the CPU and onto the GPU, since it suppose to support it. I multitask all the time and although I am running an I7 7700k, encoding takes an enormious amount of CPU usage. Thank you for your assistance.

If your output profile specifies dual pass, try changing to single pass.

I was able to get it to work. But it really depends on how your profile settings are configured. Playing around with various settings, I have been successful in getting the NVidia encoder to work. I greatly appreciate your quick attention and assistance with this.

Good to hear. Do you know which settings made it not work as we would like to embed checks for that into the code.
