I enabled the fade transition so that I could fade between a cut point in the middle of the video but noticed that the a fade was added at the end of the video too. Is there a way to stop that from happening?
I didn't realise it added a fade to the beginning too. It does indeed. The video I was working with already had a fade in, so I hadn't noticed. I did try to use ffmpeg to trim from the start, but the video didn't start properly. It was a web "Web Optimised" MP4, so perhaps it trimmed a key part of the beginning.
Anyhow, the option to just make this happen at cut points would be really useful.
Why did you not use VRD for the "start" cut?
There is a Tools>"Trim And Copy Source File" option for problem files
and then of course the normal VRD edit way.
Just thought that maybe VRD transitions looks at a file and considers the "start" and "end" as a "cut" point.
Transitions are applied to every cut, including the start and end. We did this to simplify the setup. VRD has always been focused on being the fasted way to just cut sections out of a video. We didn't want to complicate the option by making a whole UI where you had to apply it to every cut individually.
Can you just leave a little extra on the end to eat up the transition?
