Problem starting 1.0B8

I'm having a problem with 1.0B8 and VRD6 .811. VAP6 hangs on starting if I have any file in the monitored folder. I think it is opening the first file and then VRD is hanging.

I thought initially it might be something to do with running it once as administrator, but the odd thing is, if I run VAP6 as administrator, I get the messages that it failed to get the TVS version number, and then it hangs. If I run it normally, it doesn't give me the message but hangs.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled without success. I had earlier versions (I think 1.0B3) running fine.

Is there a way to more completely uninstall and reinstall?

Please provide an excerpt from the VAP6 log file beginning at a start up not running as admin. Also, try build 812a — maybe this was just an 811 problem,

I installed build 812a, and it started and successfully processed 8 non-copy protected shows.

I had two shows that I know were copy-protected (one HBO, one Showtime), but for some reason or another were downloaded by kmttg off a Tivo. When VAP started on one of those, it hung. More precisely, it seemed to try to open them in VRD and then both hung. The VRD5/VAP outcome was that the file would be marked and skipped. I think my prior problem might have been with those shows as well; I can't say for sure 812a got me further.

If VRD hung due to a copy-protected file, I believe VAP’s stall detection should have handled it, unless it has been disabled in Acvanced Configuration. However it takes a while for VAP to decide that a stall has occurred, up to 4 minutes IIRC. Once VAP detects the stall, it will move the input file to a stalled file folder and continue with other actions, i.e., VAP itself will not be hung.
