Would it be possible to add an option to set a chapter mark at join points when joining files together?
I often join files and then have to make an edit at the join points. Usually it is to patch in a fix for a bad section. I have to find each of those points manually. It would be nice if there was a chapter mark at those join points, even if it was approximate.
When I patch like that I have two VRDs open with one displaying the patch and one displaying the problem area to be patched.
By comparing the join point of the two I can mark out the exact needed areas to the exact frame.
(usually use a "scene change" frame point as it is easy to spot)
Once they are marked out in each VRD I create a "project file" for each file segment as needed.
Then I sent the marked out first segment to the joiner then put in the Project file for the middle segment and sent that to the joiner.
Finally the third or end segment project file is loaded and sent to the joiner.
All in a single VRD so all segment are together in the joiner...frame perfect patch no editing needed!
When I realized I could create a "Project File" per segment and then just drop each into a single VRD
to recreate each segment that I had marked previously and then send it to the joiner was a great time saver.
