Status of Tech Support?

I know alot of the regular posters to this forum have been wondering why there has suddenly been silence w/r/t many recent technical issues posted in the last week. I know I have. Is there a reason for the silence or is the method for tech support changing regarding the official and beta versions of the product? I only ask because many of us are not used to the sudden length of time passing before getting any replies from VRD tech specialists. Thanks and hope all is well at VRD, truly the best video editing software hands down!

Yep, noticed that Dan203 was last on here Nov1. So hoping a well earned vacation and not anything else.

We can only hope that is the case. It is just odd that there has been absolutely no replies from anyone at VRD on any issues. Perhaps when they return we can suggest that they put a status somewhere in the formum if they know they are shutting down for an extended period...

Until recent (non) events I've been wondering whether the VRD guys had a life, judging by the promptness of their replies and the hours they appeared to put in.
I'm now wondering whether they have finally managed to break the chains keeping them next to their computers and they have managed to escape over the hills and away.
I have mixed feelings about this.

I see that the VRD guys have been lurking but not posting. I now fear that their escape bid from the yoke of servitude was thwarted but that their keyboards were terminally damaged during the attempt.

I'm fine. I don't post as much because I'm busy working on code. I'm not just tech support I'm also one of the primary developers. Sometimes I get caught up in the code and forget about the tech support stuff.

Dan, thanks for writing back. Ok, just wondering since it's been a while since you have replied to some outstanding issues. Understand your priorities and get it. But as you have told us often, you rely on your users input for the reporting of bugs and issues in order to get your product out there in the best shape it can be. As long as I know that you will eventually get to a couple of reported issues that are kinda important like the scrambling of segments in the joiner when equalization is used and the crashing when you scroll to the end of the timeline. Not only me, but other users have reported these issues as well. The good news is that most of us power users are savvy enough to know how to work around issues like these, but general users may not. Thanks for listening, keep up the development and hope to see you soon working some of the posted issues.

We've been working diligently on getting the new 809 beta out. If you look at the change log there were a lot of fixes in this build including a total re-architecture of the DVD output code.

If you have an immediate issue you can always email us at support AT videoredo.com which is our primary support channel.
