After reading the various conversations in this forum, and visiting web sites people have kindly mentioned, I've made a decision and bought my local store's last remaining GTX 1050 (not the Ti).

VRD6 beta 810 reports as follows:-

- GeForce GTX 1050 : 6.1
Codec: H264 supported
Field encoding: Yes
MBAFF encoding: No
10bit encoding: No
Look ahead encoding: Yes
Max B frames: 1
Codec: HEVC supported
Field encoding: No
MBAFF encoding: No
10bit encoding: Yes
Look ahead encoding: Yes
Max B frames: 0
- Processor: : Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4440 CPU @ 3.10GHz
- Adapter: : NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050, 26.21.14.4141, 2019-11-20
- Adapter: : Intel(R) HD Graphics 4600, 10.18.14.4264, 2015-08-04
- Windows version : Windows 7 Home Premium

I've only just started playing with the GTX 1050 and VRD6 beta 810, but so far it's looks good, bye bye Software Encoding, hello NVEnc!

So far NVenc is working perfectly with the latest 810 beta. Great job! I have not gotten those error messages that I reported in another post for any file I've tried. Here is my information. Remember from my other post, I have Win10 Pro, not Enterprise.

I agree, NVEnc really does rock. I generally kick the bit rate up a bit to get better quality vs, software encoding, but all my encodes are for in-home streaming so bit rate and size don't aren't critical for me.

The speed of NVEnc, even on the cheap card I bought, is insane. I recoded a 1 hour show, no cuts, 1080i in about 10 minutes. I remember the days when it took 3 hours to make a DVD.

Just a FYI for people interested in NVEnc...

The NEW Nvidia1650 Super has an UPDATED NVEnc unit and is now equal to all the other cards...$160 (US)
