Dan..

This one just started popping up, today.
1660076846721.png

Running 6.63.7.836 on Windows 10 Pro x64 ver 21H1. Computer's a Thinkpad X1 Extreme Generation 5 with an Intel 11th Version VPro i7, 32GB RAM, 2TB SSD. Connected to 10/200 wired internet.

Disabling the daily new-version check solves the issue. Just thought I'd let you know.

Me too.

But only if I check for updates.

Under "Options" Startup there's a drop-down for "Never" to check for new releases (at startup ?).
And a couple of tick boxes, you can choose "Check Daily" (I untick) and "Request Permisssion" (I tick).
I gather these are per-user settings.
Similar for VRD5.

Cheers

So I am getting the same thing. What are the odds that this happens the day I do a new VideoReDo install on my system? Crap. I needed to use it now. But I can't until it's activated.

I noticed that DEV "Danr" was last here "Last seen Jun 6, 2022"

Just hope all is well...vacation etc.

I'm currently running VRD v833 - I tend to run a beta or two behind unless I have a problem - but I've just downloaded v836.
I'm reluctant to install the new version in case I get caught in an authentication loop and can't reload my working version either.
videoredo.net is currently being reported as "down" by the isitdownrightnow.com website with no comments posted. Yet the forum and downloads are still working?

I can't see it, can you post the full comments and quote(s) please ?

Pointless me updating this then as I posted it yesterday on Version 5 forum. Thought it was cured but it returned again today. Re-installed but before using the software it has returned.

This was the last time this error was reported.

We made a change to our server to make it start using https instead of http and it screwed up some of the internal URLs in VideoReDo. We think we have it fixed now.

It did fix it then but it's possible the server has maybe crashed or worse.

You'll need to disable version checks. Tools > Options > Startup. At the top of that page, uncheck the beta version box, then go to the dropdown and click on "never check" or increase it to 30 days just in case it all comes back.

Thanks DrDon, I've done that and anything else that I thought would effect this issue. I'm now working again. I've had this issue with other companies that folded that used it as a security check to prevent hackers.

Dear Dan Haddix, since you are visiting this forum, could you please tell us, what happened? I see the screenshot above. Is there anything that we as endusers can do? Maybe at least to prevent the VRD project to go completely down and keep it as is at frozen state.

Can you also find a way to link the final stable build (VRDTVS-6-63-7-836.exe ?) so it can be downloaded? I wasn't able to download it before the server was taken down.
