All the best to you Dan, health comes before anything else.

It says 'registered to' and 'succesfully activated' but upon opening video files there's a 'problem with the registration key' which ends up in 'unable to open file.'

I use VideoReDo on a daily basis and have been for the last 5 years or so. I'm a little scared for the uninstall/new install-workarounds. I hope this will be resolved automatically...

Keeping my fingers crossed. First and all for you, Dan...I really, really, really hope you can get VRD up and running again.

Same issue here. Went to open a few files I needed to edit and ithe program opens fine and allows me to seletc the file but I get a "Problem with Registration Key" error and it won't open.

Program says fully registered(and it has been for a while, this isn't a new install).

Same "Problem with registration key" issue here. Thanks, Dan for the help. BTW, I own a small software company (biotech) and I am the sole engineer. I know what a pain it is when everything goes sideways and your customers start losing it. You have my sympathy, and thanks for continuing to plug away.

Bonus questions for anyone else on the forum: On the manual activation page (https://videoredo.net/activation/) I'm asked for my USER TOKEN (Format: XXXXXXXXXX-XXXXXX-XXXXXX) and a System ID (Format: XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX)

I have an UPGRADE token from when I upgraded from TVS Suite v5 to v6 that is the same format as the USER token. Are they the same thing.

I have no idea what my System ID is or where to find it. Anyone?

I just want to be prepared as well as possible for servers to go away so I can continue using the program in that event. I use it almost weekly and it would be hard to live without. Is there a way to stop the application from phoning home to a server once registration has been confirmed. This would allow the application for continue working even if servers go away, which seems a real possibility now.

Those tokens are displayed in the dialog when you click the Manual Activation button

Well f*ck! I was just restoring the website via FTP. Just uploading basic HTML/PHP files. Nothing fancy at all. I didn't touch the registration/activation server. All I can figure is that something on the videoredo.com site triggered an activation lock. Unfortunately I have no idea how all this activation stuff works. This was all DanR's area. I'm not sure if this affects everyone or just those that tried to run while the site was only partially uploaded. I'm running a test now to see.

I will also run some tests on my end to figure out how I can fix this. I'll report back soon.

I believe when you go to "manual activation" it will display USER TOKEN, etc. I think someone here mentioned that "System ID" changes everytime you go there...?
He was using his from a text file and that did not work.

I had to get UPGRADE token and USER TOKEN, go to the activation page Dan203 listed here (NOT .com) NOT the one in the VRD interface.
...here at ".net".

There you will in put the System ID and UPGRADE TOKEN. Now you will get a third number (good for 24 hours) and that is what activated my VRD6 VM install.

Just out of curiosity..... I have TVS V6 .833 installed, If I upgrade to .836a will this cause TVS to implode? I use TVS almost every day.

No, this was a temporary glitch.

It seems that the people who launched their copy while the server was being updated got a bad response from the update server that caused an activation lock on their system. This is no longer an issue, so it only affected people who were unlucky enough to launch or force a check for update during the brief window when this glitch was active.

Sorry to hear that DanR is ill. Thanks to Dan203 for heroic efforts to get things functioning again.

Something to consider when things calm down: if the company dies at any time in the future, a user hardware upgrade (or even a reinstall after a rebuild) will mean VideoReDo can't be registered.

Make sure you find out how the site got hacked last time so they won't do it again.
Also, if possible please keep us posted on DanR's health.

It wasn’t exactly "hacked". Someone found the script we use for the contact form and was using it to send SPAM. The host shut it down and then for some reason completely deleted it after a week. DanR wasn’t around to get the warnings so we didn’t realize what happened until it was too late. Luckily we had a relatively recent backup, but I still had to restore everything manually which was a huge PITA.

Major thanks to @Dan203 for all of his work and effort during this time.
I was just trying to access the activation page ,and others, but I'm just getting a 403 error page.
Anyone else?

If I try https://videoredo.net/activation/ then I see Capture.PNG

and if I try other links provided, such as

or

I get an "oops" message that the thread cannot be found.

For now my TV Suite V6 is still running on my current workstation, I'm just waiting for 13th gen Intel CPU releases (and RTX4000) and I will build a new system, onto which I hope I can still install TVSuite V6.

Thanks again for all the help @Dan203, REALLY appreciated.

The .net ones were just temporary. I took them down when I got the main server back up and running.

if you need to activate go to http://videoredo.com/activate instead.
