TS (transport stream) test program

Hi,

I am looking for a small / fast TS test program that would quickly scan a TS file to come up with a similar error report as the 'Qiuckfix' tool of VideoReDo just without actually saving anything (and therefor, hopefully being a lot faster). It should (if possible) run on Linux so I can run it on the sat receiver itself. I need this to quickly determine if a recording needs to be repeated without having to go through many manual steps.

Thanks...

Hello,

I just want to inform you that I very recently wrote a new (and free) utility program (along with another), named PTvM Ts Checker, that does exactly that.

Initially written in French, I also made an English version.

It doesn't run on Linux, however (although this should probably not be so difficult to do, starting from its source code, which is freely available on a Subversion repository).

The software is also able to generate a stub VideoRedo project file in order to help locating errors inside the recording.

Please visit this page.

To Gingko, many thanks for your PTvM Ts Checker prog. It will be helpful beyond description for forming an error free movie when I have 2 source mpeg2s which are filled with errors (that makes sense, right).

You're welcome.

Don't hesitate to ask questions (for example in our forum) if you have any problem with the software.

^ I'll do that :)

Having only used it a couple of times nothing "huh?" has jumped out at me ... apart from a "wouldn't it be nice if..." thing.

being a lazy person with a folder full of raw mpeg2 tv files I'm thinking, wouldn't it be nice if I could have your prog automatically work its way through ALL of the files, creating the error.VPRJ file for each one as it goes along, instead of me having to do things one-by-one. <- see I told you I was lazy :D

I haven't tested this extensively, but maybe you could think about using it through a batch file (.bat), or any other kind of script, by using command line options -b and -v (see documentation) ?

A properly written batch file could probably be able to process a group of files just by collectively dragging their icons on this batch file, or on a shortcut to it.
