VHS Capture

I am new to this activity, & am seeking advice on members who have used devices to capture VHS films & then burn to DVD. What capture & software have you used?

I personally use Hauppauge PVR-250 and more recently DVD recorders, then edit with VRD.

How many do you have?
Are they self recordings or Commercial Pre-recorded tapes?

These questions need to be answered in order to define the limitations of the various capture methods.
