Video drivers needed to make VRD run?

Sometime in the recent past (not sure exactly when) VRDTVS6 has stopped working for me on my Apple silicon Mac running the latest version of Monterey (12.6) and with the latest CrossOver (22.0). I've re-installed, again following tsp1965's instructions from earlier in this thread. This worked perfectly in the past. But now, although installation seems fine, any attempt to open a video file provokes an immediate crash with an error pop-up:

Clicking on the "Details" button just closes the window and provides no further information.

I suspect the new version of CrossOver may be the culprit but I really don't know.

Has anyone been able to get VRDTVS6 working with the latest macOS and the latest CrossOver? VRD is literally the only Windows software that I still have a need for and losing it again is a hardship.

It does seem to be an issue with CrossOver. I installed the previous version (21.2) and the problem goes away.

I guess I need to report this to CodeWeavers, but if anyone here has any more ideas or solutions for this, please let me know.

Stopped being able to save 1080p edits on 21.2 and was hoping that 22.0 would fix it but no joy. No clue why. It basically crashes whilst saving after the first edit point. I do not remember associating the problem with an update to Crossover though.

Very frustrating. I gave up trying to fix it months ago.

Yes, it's very odd. We're having different problems. I can at least get it to work with the last pre-22 version of CrossOver.

OK, I just got VRD to work with 22.0 - maybe the trick is you need a new bottle very time Crossover is updated?

This is exactly what I did if you want to try it (all credit goes to @tsp1965 of course). I am running MacOS 12.6 (Monterey) on a Mac mini (2018). I have access to an M1 iMac if you need me to try it on that as well.
  1. Installed:
    1. New bottle from Blank_KitchenSink_Win7.cxarchive
    2. Installed DirectX for Modern Games.tie
    3. Installed Platform SDK Redistributable_ GDI+.tie
    4. Installed VRDTVS-6-62-6-833a.exe
  2. Configured
    1. Registered VRD (during installation)
    2. Restarted VRD (as per installing process)
    3. Tools > Options > Playback Devices
      1. uncheck 'Use Video Card YUV Acceleration'
      2. Select Video driver: GDI
boom.
