VideoReDo Plus crashes when loading a Humax TS file

Hi,
I 've just bought a Humax HDR-1800T as a post-Christmas present. Imagine my excitment when I found I could FTP into it and upload the files onto my PC. I then read in a Humax forum that people where using VideoReDo to convert and edit the files into MPEG so I tried it.
Sadly VideoRedo just crashes as it tries to open the file! Does anyone know if this is normal or am I doing something wrong?

I have VideoReDo Plus version 3.10.3.609
The file is normal resolution (I know I have to do something different with HD recordings)
I have just uploaded the .TS file but there are other files on the Humax with the same program name but different file extensions, do I need then as well/instead?

Any comments will be much appreciated

You only need the TS file to edit with VideoReDo.

First, I would suggest updating your version.

Second, since you are in the UK I would assume the file contains H.264 video so you would need to use V5 instead. Plus only supports type MPEG-1 and MPEG-2 video. It does not support type MP4 video.

thanks for the reply.
I only have VideoReDo Plus, not the TV Suite so I guess I will have to upgrade, not a problem 'cos I've had such good use from this program over the years it's worth spending a bit more money to move onto the latest platform.
I'll try the free trial just to confirm it does do these files

Hi,
I am still struggling with the TS files off my Humax HDR-1800T.
If I try loading one with VideoReDo Plus I get "Cannot find PAT packet in program stream"
If I try loading with VideoReDo TCSuite I get "No PMT (Map Tables) found in this transport stream"
I have tried the suggestion of ticking "ignore transport stream maps" that was in another thread but this doesn't help.

Any suggestions on what is going wrong?

How are you transferring the files?

It has been reported that Humax files are encrypted if transferred by FTP. When copied via USB the encryption is removed and VRD works just fine.

Hi,
I had read this but thuoght it said it was only for the files recorded off HD channels! so I had just been transfering the files using FileZilla straight off the internal hard-drive.
I will try copying them to a USB device, then transfer them and see if that is any different
