Still have issues with the LargeBufferMalloc no more memory trying to convert my 4k/60p HEVC GoPro files to 4k/60p AVC

Still can't understand why we are not being updated with these issues, surely if Handbrake can do this same conversion without any issues, surely VRD can do it too, so what on earth is the problem.

We need to separate out the 4K/60p encoders into a separate 64-bit process this work is still going on. Development has not been as rapid as hoped.

I have this problem with standard 720p h264 encodes !!!.
Also getting muxer output errors.
All problems appeared after installing 817a !!!.

Using Handbrake or version 5 pro completes encodes perfectly.

Starting with 817, there was a memory leak in the mp4 muxer which would account for memory allocation issue(s). Not sure if it takes care of the muxer error you're seeing or not, which is why I would appreciate you giving it a try.

The updated 64-bit encoder development is well under way, and hopefully will be ready by sometime next week.

Just installed 818a Pro and i still can't output a 4k/60p HEVC file from my GoPro 7 to 4k/60p AVC, VRD just crashes and closes after 5 seconds, not even getting the LargeBufferMalloc no more memory error box on the screen ?

I also tried another more complex file (4k-50p HEVC MPEG-TS 4.2.2-10bit @ 71Mbps) and this one still gives me the LargeBufferMalloc no more memory error box on the screen ?

My Metabox laptop has a 6 core (12 thread) CPU and 32gb of ram, more than capable of outputting these files.

Glen, Either log file(s) to support so I can open up a support ticket on this.

However, I could encode your first video to HEVC without issue.
Restart Pro and then encoded the first video to AVC without issue.
But, If I encoded to HEVC, let that finish and then encoded to AVC it failed (no message).

FYI, we are still working on testing the 64-bit encoder which should solve these problems completely, but it's not ready and isn't in build 818a.

Sorry Danr, i am confused with your post and what you actually did.

However, I could encode your first video to HEVC without issue.

The first 4k/60p file is already HEVC so it doesn't need to be encoded to HEVC, and then encoded to AVC as i think you was suggesting that you did.

The other file is 4k/50p HEVC MPEG-TS file, trying to convert that to a simple 4k/50p AVC MP4 file, which gives the LargeBufferMalloc error.

I have sent several log files for those video conversions before without any luck, but i will clear my log folder and grab the new logs.

Glen, I only played with the first file since I knew the 4:2:2 file would have issues until the 64-bit encoder is ready for release.

I saw that the 1st file was already HEVC, but did a recode anyway to see if the sequence of events made a difference.

Anyway, can you try this on the 1st file:

1. go to Shift+Tools>Options and set #47, decoding threads to 6.
2. Then try and recode the HEVC to AVC.

The current memory usage seems to be right on the boarder line and maybe this will help until we get this all resolved soon.

Want to thank all those concerned with finally eradicating the LargeBufferMalloc no more memory issue with previous versions.

I was given a link to version 6-91-6-818f that finally fixed this error when converting my GpPro 4k/60p HEVC files to AVC.

Now i can dump Handbrake for encoding those files and now get back to using VRD Pro for both editing and conversions.
